The Children's Room at The Billerica Public Library is proud to offer the following resources to parents and teachers.

• We have an Ellison machine to cut out different shapes ranging from alphabet letters, to animals, to seasonal images.  Just sign up at the Children's Room Reference Desk and be sure to bring your own paper!

• Boardmaker Kit:  A graphics database that contains 30,000 Picture Communication Symbols in clip art form.  It is an incredibly flexible and powerful communication displaymaker and an excellent tool for special needs children.  The Boardmaker Kit may be checked out for one week.

• We have a giant parachute available for public use.

• Discovery Kits:  We have over 80 kits which we circulate on a weekly basis that are designed especially for kids ages 3-8.  The kits center around a special theme and contain such items as books, videos, puppets, manipulatives, audio cassettes, etc.

• Storygarden News:  A monthly newsletter published by the Children's Department featuring upcoming events, new books, literacy information, collection highlights, etc.  You may access Storygarden News online by clicking here.

• Museum Passes:  The Family Friends of the Billerica Library purchases group membership passes to a number of museums in the Boston area that offer either free or reduced admission.  These passes are available by advanced reservation and are limited to Billerica Residents or members of the Family Friends.  Click here for further information.

• We have subscriptions to Mailbox (preschool and kindergarten editions) which have excellent ideas, themes, crafts, etc.
